UH Big Tex wins PokerStars Sunday Million

3rd April, 2008

An online gamer by the name of UH Big Tex has bagged first prize at the Sunday Million event, hosted by leading online gaming operator PokerStars.

The quarterly tournament sported a hefty buy-in of $1,000 (£500) and yet it still managed to attract some 1,869 entrants - up on the 1,802 gamers who signed up to the previous event in December.

Action on the final poker table saw a deal being cut the three remaining players - UH Big Tex, BrokenTPot and Governator - which guaranteed each player would earn more than $200,000 but held aside a small pot to keep the remaining action interesting.

BrokenTPot was the first to leave, walking away with the $200,370, followed by the Governator who racked up $237,200 and left UH Big with the healthy first-place booty of $245,737.

All three players have moved up the 2008 cardplayer.com Online Player of the Year rankings following on from the result, with BrokenTPot reaching third place position, UH Big Tex 16th and the Governator 35th.
