WPT Ladies rolls into Bellagio
7th April, 2008
The World Poker Tour Ladies (WPT Ladies) is to wrap up its first annual series with a final date in the world-famous Las Vegas resort of Bellagio, event organisers have confirmed.
With a buy-in of $1,500 (£750) the Texas Hold'Em series has proven popular among both amateurs and professions and the final event will be broadcast on American TV as part of WPT's Season VI.
"The goal of this league is to provide opportunities for female players to step up their game, and that mission has been validated through the amazing turnout and feedback we've received during our first four stops," commented Robyn Moder, executive vice president of WPT Studios.
She added: "Almost 800 women have competed so far and for many of them it was their first live tournament. With so much excitement and support behind the league, we look forward to hosting the first WPT Ladies Championship with our long-time partners at Bellagio."
Event organisers and Five-Diamond rated luxury hotel and casino Bellagio will launch the WPT Ladies Championship in style this April 13th with a champagne brunch at The Bank Nightclub.
