WSOP launches poker academy

18th January, 2008

The World Series of Poker has launched a new academy for people in search of poker advice on improving their skills.

Dubbed the No Limit Hold'em camp, the academy aims to educate players through a series of seminars, tournaments and live discussions with top professionals such as Annie Duke and Paul Wasicka.

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas is the venue of the event - running April 18th and 19th - and one attendee will walk home with a $10,000 buy-in to the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event.

Jeff Goldenberg of Post Oak Productions, the company behind the WSOP Academy, said that it was hard to overstate the benefits of receiving training from some of the game's top players.

"If you've ever attended a poker camp before or you're a serious student of the game, now is the time to graduate to the next level," he said. "With our team of world-class instructors, our No Limit Hold'em Advanced Academy is the sure-fire way to elevate your game to new heights."

The admission price to the WSOP No Limit Hold'em Advanced Academy is $1,999 per person and tickets are expected to sell fast.
