WSOP main event in its final stages

10th November, 2008

The WSOP main event is now in it's final stages as Peter Eastgate and Ivan Demidov face each other in a heads up for the most prizes possession in poker. The main event began in September and took place over one week.

Thousands traveled to Vegas to take part in the worlds most famous cards tournament but only 9 players made it to final which begun yesterday afternoon.

The November 9 have now been whittled down to only two players and both will be desperate to take home the $9 million + prize pot. Dennis Phillips was the chip leader going into the final but finished third after bluff raising only to be beaten by Eastgate's flop set.

The final American to be knocked was given a standing ovation by his 300+ fan club.

The young Danish player was many people's favourite to win the final table and so far it's looking like he could well be the 2008 main event champion. Demidov would be the first Russian to win the event.

Check back soon to find out who has been crowned the 2008 WSOP Main event champion!
