WSOP satellites confirmed for Doyles Room

8th April, 2008

Leading online gaming operator Doyles Room has confirmed it will be running a series of satellite events for qualification to the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

WSOP will see all of the circuit's most recognisable poker players descend on Las Vegas this summer in a bid to cement their reputation in one of the fifty-plus events at the series.

As ever the jewel in that crown will be the Texas Hold'Em Main Event. The tournament has a $10,000 (£5,000) buy-in, but thanks to Doyles Room you can bag a seat for the price of a regular game.

The website will be hosting a series of daily and weekly satellites with buy-ins ranging from $9+$1 to $20+$2. Successful qualifiers will earn a $13,000 prize package, which includes the cost of the WSOP seat as well as $3,000 for expenses.

Perhaps most valuable of all, qualifiers will also receive a sit-down session with legendary poker star Doyle Brunson prior to the series, dubbed 'breakfast strategy sessions'.

Mr Brunson, the owner of Doyles Room, was recently crowned the most influential figure in poker by Bluff Magazine.
