WSOPE Schedule Announced

9th June, 2010

For the fourth year in a row the WSOP will hop across the pond. The World Series of Poker Europe will be returning to London on the 14th September and will feature five bracelet events with buy ins ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 with both Pot Limit Omaha and No Limit Hold em events.

We held steady at 57 events in Las Vegas despite last years record attendance, said Ty Stewart, vice president of the WSOP. The increase here [in London] is thoughtful and consistent with the growing stature of the event.

The event will open with a new six handed event with a 2,500 buy in which will be played out over three days. Another event added to the schedule is a 10,000 head up tournament.

The heads up tournament is the most expensive buy in for this type of tournament in European history.

We are really excited about the 2010 schedule for WSOP Europe, said Stewart. The WSOPE has found its place as a tournament about prestige where the best of the best come together to play poker. We think the new heads-up event will resonate with the worlds top players, and the six-handed event is something that is becoming synonomous with the WSOP.

The WSOPE will be held at the Empire Casino in London.

We are so excited to welcome the top poker players from all over the world to WSOPE 2010 - Europes most prestigious poker tournament and the only event outside of Las Vegas at which players can win a coveted WSOP bracelet, said Michael Siberling, CEO of London Clubs International. This is the fourth year we have hosted the event at the Casino at The Empire, which has rapidly become Londons premier poker venue, and we have every expectation that the 2010 event will be bigger and better than ever before.
