The Grinder signs for Hollywood Poker

31st Jul 2007

Card Player’s 2006 Player of the Year, Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, has agreed to sign a deal with Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino, meaning that changes are already being made to Mizrachi’s tournaments schedule.

Mizrachi has doubled his workload by agreeing to host tournament events 6 days a week as an alternative to his previous schedule of just 3 days a week. However, as Mizrachi’s schedule has been increased, the buy-in to his tournaments has been slashed from $580 to just $120.

The tournaments will all begin at 19:00 on every night of the week with the exclusion of Saturday. Players of the tournament start with $5000 in chips, with the blinds going up every half hour. The player who manages to eliminate Mizrachi from the game is to be rewarded with $300 in promotional chips that can be wagered in all cash games. In the event of Mizrachi not playing, the tournament’s winner will receive the $300 as well as the prize for fist place.

Mizrachi also holds poker training sessions 3 days a week in a Q and A style before each of his tournaments at 18:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
