World Poker Tour to Head to China

6th Aug 2007

The WPT is on its way to China even though the country still strictly forbids any form of gambling.

World Poker Tour Enterprises Inc. and China Leisure Sports Administrative Center have arranged to sign an agreement. This new partnership will be used to promote poker in China through the countrys first ever poker event. It was claimed that the new partnership between the two would last for at least five years, as there would be an option to extend the contract.

An interest in poker has risen sharply in the USA over the last few years, which has been helped immensely by televised tournaments like the WPT and WSOP.
