John started playing poker tournaments in 1996, he won the World Poker Open Championship in 2001. The year after he won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the Ace to Five Triple Draw Lowball event and then won two more WSOP events in 2003. In 2004 John made 15 final tables and placed fifth in both the 2005 Five-Star Work Poker Classic and the 2005 National Heads-UP poker Championship. His most reason win was in Monte Carlo after winning the Monte Carlo Millions Consolation tournament, along with finishing sixth in the main event and second in the FullTiltPoker.Net Invitational Live from Monte Carlo. These wins have nearly earned John $500 000. Even more recently though he beat players such as Phil Ivey to win the 2006 Aussie Millions Speed Poker Million Dollar Challenge, earning John around $732,000 US dollars.
